Konris Maynard



Deputy Leader and Candidate for Constituency #3

Konris G.M. Maynard is one of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s Deputy Leaders and the caretaker for Constituency #3 which includes the communities of Shadwell, La Guerite, St. Johnston Village, Russell Village, St. Johnston Ave, Wigley Avenue, Millionaire St, Haynes Smith Village, Fortlands, Trafalgar, Lime Kiln, the whole Village area, Buckleys, Sea View, Bay View, Camps Estate, Ocean View, Ocean Gardens, Mattingley Heights, Beacon Heights, Dewars, the West Farm Area, Abbotts, the Boyds Area, and Palmetto Point.

He was born and raised in “The Village” and at thirty-two years of age he became the youngest parliamentarian serving in the National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis. Maynard’s victory at the polls was testimony to his tenacity, organizational skills as well as his natural grit and mettle in facing down incredible odds to win the hearts and minds of the people of Constituency #3. After four years serving on the Opposition benches, Konris has proven himself to be a strong, courageous and dynamic voice in Parliament where he often has had to challenge the governing administration for their grievances against the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Driven by a strong desire to serve and to contribute in a direct and positive way to the development and prosperity of his community and his country, Maynard has been “winning big” for the people of West Basseterre and commits to win even bigger when, with the help and blessing of his constituents, he becomes the next elected representative of West Basseterre.

Over the years, Konris has worked diligently to address the concerns and needs of the people of West Basseterre through financial contributions and donations in support of a number of community groups and events, particularly those that cater to the needs of children, the elderly and sports. An avid fan of the Village Superstars, Maynard has been a prominent patron of the Village Football League.

As the father of two beautiful little girls, Konris has demonstrated his love for children through active participation in many of the daycare and primary school activities taking place in his Constituency and regularly contributes books, art and school supplies to the students of all the schools in the area. His scholarship programmeand awards have touched the lives of many outstanding students.

Konris’ commitment to the people he represents has been consistent and unshakeable. His Constituency Office has never closed, and its staff has maintained an open-door policy where all constituents are welcomed and are provided with a full range of services, including job search and employment assistance.

When given a fresh mandate from the people in the next general elections, as part of the Labour administration led by Dr. Terrance Drew, Konris is looking forward to widening his outreach and expanding the programmesthat he will be able to deliver to constituents in the areas of housing, land-ownership, agriculture development, upgrading of community and sporting facilities, supporting the Arts and Culture, youth empowerment and employment, small businesses enterprise development and alternative energy development.

Konris’ commitment to servant leadership combined with his passion to achieve and excel will be a great asset as he tackles the various challenges of West Basseterre with the same tenacity, organization and commitment that has endeared him to his constituents over the last seven yearsand enabled him to perform with distinction as a Member of Parliament, an Engineer and as a 6-peat Calypso Monarch.

In 2021, Konris was granted the honour of being one of the St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s deputy leaders, where he will serve alongside the new leader in developing the party.

In the next general election, Konris will win BIG in advancing the good governance agenda in keeping with his core ideals as well as helping to attract major investments and economic activity to the community of West Basseterre and the wider Federation as a means of helping citizens to attain their goals.

Konris’ main priorities will be to:

• Create employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for his constituents;

• Provide much greater access to affordable housing and land ownership, including “rent to own”;

• Use Sports Development to engage youth and provide them alternative avenues to help them DREAM BIG and fulfill their aspirations.
